Pigerne Galleria, Chanel, Aqua og Dorinda er fra New York, og de går alle i niende klasse. Men de har skam ambitioner om at komme frem i livet, og drømmen er intet mindre end at blive vaskeægte popstjerner! De tager nu navnet " The Cheetah Girls", og begynder at træne deres sangstemmer. Pigerne skal dog stadig sørge for at lave lektier, og forsøge at holde fast i nogle grundliggende værdier, såsom familie og venner, men det er ikke let, når man skal til at være popstjerne.
